Why are there SO many Languages?!

Languages have always been a complex idea. Why should the world have so many languages? Why can't we all speak one language? And while we're at it, why can't we all act in peace? Ok- I know, now Im going too far- this is not a hub about world peace. Im am here to simply answer a question: How did so many languages in the world originate? If you look in the bible (Genesis 11:1–9)- You will find that during the time of Noach, everyone on earth did speak the same language. However, as they migrated away from their hometown, they decided to establish their name and reputation by building a city and a tower that reached the sky. G-d, in His infinite wisdome knew that if they all speak the same language- nothing would be out of their reach. One man can be on top of the tower and another can be 2 floors down as they build it- and the man 2 floors down can ask for any tool he wants from on top, he will be understood. Therefore, G-d went down and confounded their speech, so that they could not understand each another. Now, you could imagine- one guy asks for a piece of paper, but the guy higher up on the tower thinks he asked for hammar- so he throws the hammar down, it hits the second guy, and he's dead. Confusion and fury have now permeated the land causing all the people to spread out across the map of the world. There you have it- that is how the various languages began.
