How to dress like a nerd part 2

This might be the perfect time of year to get the guts to go out dressed like a nerd! Halloween is fast approaching and many of us are searching the internet for costume ideas. You can click on the link to the right to see my previous Hub on how to dress like a nerd.

Here's a look at what exactly is a nerd?! The dictionary states that a nerd is "a foolish, inept, or unattractive person." It can also be "a [bookish] person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept." Now how do we fit this into a costume idea? Well, I actually have a really good idea for you!!

Many believe that this description of a nerd originated from Dr. Suess's book called If I Ran the Zoo, in which he wrote "And then, just to show them, I'll sail to Ka-Troo And Bring Back an It-Kutch a Preep and a Proo A Nerkle a Nerd and a Seersucker, too!" (The nerd is a small humanoid creature looking comically angry) The young five and six year-olds of the 1950's passed the word "nerd" on to their older siblings who (by 1957) then classed their peers as nerds.

Now you are still looking for an idea how to dress like a nerd? Open up the Dr. Suess book- If I Ran the Zoo, and take a look at the illustrations. You can use your imagination in dressing like the nerd in this book and use your own spin on it!
